"Mirage, Risque, Avalanche... do you read?" Eric called through his earpiece, even those in the same room as him heard his voice through the other headsets he had handed out...
After a few moments of silence, he tried again, "Mirage, Risque, Avalanche can you hear me?"
He was answered by a short burst of static, followed by a gruff male voice, "Avalanche here, that rumble you most probably felt was me, Mirage has taken a hit and can't fight, I can'count how many more are coming at us!"
"How many what? Are you under attack?" Eric tried to confirm.
"That's a big affirmative... Hold up..." the dam groaned again, signalling that he had used his power again, "...We're holding them off in the lower holding pens, deep below the lake... What's your staus, are there many up your way?"
"Many what? There's nothing up here, can you describe your attackers?" Magneto demanded, heading at full pace out the command blister, "...Avalanche? Avalanche? Do you read me?" he was answered only by static...
As NOah reached the doorway to the command room, the sealed doors directly opposite emmited a tapping noise... that noise slowly escalated into an obvious pounding beat, indicating that someone or something lay behind it, banging hopelessly in the futile attempt of breaching the military-grade titanium bulkhead. the noise was joined by another just like it on the other door offset to the last, only this time more profoundly and more repetitively than the last, meaning that there were alot of those somethings behind it... both doors sat firmly sealed with no sign of breaking...
The one with only one noise emmiting suddenly earned an outwards dent nearly half a foot deep...
Eric and his comrades reached their teammates in about three minutes... though three minutes could easily decide someone's fate...
When they reached the entrance to the lower holding pens, the found that the other side of the pens had completely collapsed, quite possibly an Avalanche...
"You took your sweet time!" A familiar voice called out, "I sealed the other side, there were too many, did you encounter a horde like us?" he asked.
"I still have no idea of what you're talking about!" Eric said honestly, Avalanche simply pointed over to the third holding cell from the door as he tended to a laceration on Mirage's thigh, It wasn't life threatening but she couldn't stand on her leg...
Eric made his way over to the cell, it was still sealed and noises came from the inside... He gazed through the veiw screen to see a man... r what a man might look like if he were made of pure adrenaline and testosterone, covered head to toe in bulging muscles, barking insane and covered with bio-enhancment gear...
"I think these were failed projects of Stryker, they all act like that Wolvering guy though only about half have claws and even they're more insane!" Avalanche stated...
Jade moved close to the pen and grimaced, holding her head which throbbed with pain. Looking to Magneto, "I told you something wasn't right here...this proves it...and we have no idea how many others of them there are lurking around."
Her voice was strained, even speaking was beginning to take its toll on her already exhausted physical form.
"I understand that t-they h-have to be killed off...but I can't hold back this p-power for m...much longer...I dont want any of you to get injured because of it." Jade replied, each moment that passed, the pain worsened, she winced and straightened, her eyes almost glinting with a green tinge. Her body still trembling and beaded with sweat, she looked to Magneto, "Please...just go."
Jade turned to face the pen. It took less than 3 minutes for the mutants to break through the barrier that had once held them successfully at bay.
Enraged roars came from several of the mutants at the front of the large pack as their eyes set upon the figure of Jade, an intruder none the less...they descended upon her with a swift yet cunning speed.
Only to be knocked back by an enforced jade shield she'd placed with her mind. Clawing at the shield, the mutants became intent on cutting through the barrier that now held them in the corridor.
One by one, the mutants subjected themselves to the shocks given out by the shield. Jade then began to tremble further, the shield beginning to give way under the immense pressure of the attacking mutants.
There was a slight snap, electical in nature as the first mutant broke through the shield. Jade's head whipped to the side and the mutant, along with its accompanying comrades became hostage in a large shield, one by one...moving through the gap, the mutants advanced only to be trapped in shields of their own.
Jade's eyes now began to glow fiercely with a green tinge. The shields holding the mutants had reversed their polarity by two fold on her command and were slowly crushing the mutants to death.
Their pained and enraged roars, screams and whimpers resounded down the corridors.
As each mutant died, their limp bodies fell through the shields and onto the cool metallic flooring of the corridor.
Jade had cut the numbers down to almost 75% before she really began to loose control.
Now doubling over in pain, Jade whimpered slightly, "Make it stop." She cried and rounded on the mutants that had survived, her eyes now completely engulfed in the green glow. Each mutant began to choke, a light green mist rising out from their throats as they slowly died...one by one they dropped to the floor. Dead.
Jade slowly gained control, though it was then, that she looked around her. Every mutant that had within its intent to harm her was now dead and laying within 20 feet of her.
Exhaling, she covered her face with her hands and crouched down. The tension had been relieved, but did she truly have control now? Or was it just an illusion?
