However..as we can see within this "reality" things don't change. 2+2 will always = 4. Concepts such as "gravity" will always inherently exist. We live in a universe full of fixed rules..which tell us about the nature of this "Creator." He doesn't seem to be wishy-washy type, but rather..a genuine/trustworthy/loving type. One who sticks to his commitments..and truly values what he has created.Fin
But 2+2 is only = 4 relatively to the 8 axioms, or rules that defines subtraction, and addition. Those rules were not proved to be true, they were belived to be true by ancient mathematicians, and philosophers. If you define different rules for subtraction, and addition, like in non-euclidean geometries 2+2 can simply not = 4. That is well know by modern mathemathicians or physicists.

Who invented math, god or man?

Try doing 2+2=4 with Roman numerals. That used to be a problem, especially with multiplication and division, that is why we went to the system we have now.
I am not a math historian, so we need to ask one of them.

I agree with you, I think math is an invention made by man and not god, but I think the premise of this thread is that math was made by god.
Well, if "math was made by God" means that math holds the "absolute truths" of things, then it would be possible to conclude that these same "absolute truths" are defined by a person individual opinion, since math is created based on premises made by man. That seems a lot like the defintion of relativism.

You guys are avoiding the question..come on now.. according to "Buddhist" philosophy..there should be more than one way...let's concentrate on the tangibles..within this "reality" full of "absolutes" is there a way to get to the penny..without going through the balloon?
Come on now fellas..you should at least be able to come up with something.

You seem to be ignorant about Nichiren Buddhism.

Incorrect assumption. Because someone else is wrong does not mean you are right. You can both be wrong.
And that's the relative side of Buddhism coming in again..it's such a childish view of the world..
Basically..a relativist is like a child..they can't conform or submit to the reality in which they exist in..so they make up some little fantasy world..where they can change the rules around.
Problem being..this little fantasy land..only exists within their heads. The Laws of Nature, don't have to submit to their childish "perceptions"..and thank God they do not.
This world would be full of chaos..if we had a relativist in a position of "Supreme" authority. But said to say..that's seems to be the direction the world is headed in..

Math is not about the universe... for example, you can´t try to explain why 2+2=4 based on that analogy of apples of made. Apples are a physical phenomena, and math is a abstract thing. That is something that scientists generally agree. Math doesn´t need to agree with physical phenomena.

So two people who are arguing can’t both be wrong? There is never three options to an argument? You live in a fantasy world. 😆
