Covenant have scientists. They are called engineers... if you had actually read the books you would know! they fix the spartans suits in 2 secs... suits they had never seen before in their lifes... I think thats qualifies them as "clever".. They just dont fight... The elites Who are "SOlDIERS" go into combat...
If an elite had to fight an engineer, the elite would win... why??? cause they are trainned to fight... The interlect they posses is focused towards fighting, and making wise tactical decisions... SP might beable to find 10001 uses for phason but that don't mean nout if the can't create a phason supercomputer terminator that can fight for them....
Here is some info i got from a site: "Space Pirates are a fictional sentient aggressor species that appear throughout the Metroid series. They are sometimes referred to as Zebesian Space Pirates, or just Zebesians in the Super Metroid game manual, although later games have revealed that the Space Pirates are not native to the planet Zebes.
Space pirate trooperThis alien race specializes in raiding starships and planets in a quest for dominance in the galaxy. Their species has a wide range of morphological variation – their base forms have hands featuring two thumbs and a single finger, but many are genetically engineered with lobsterlike claws with their gun barrels lodged within. Some of these clawed pirates, called Troopers, have their other arm replaced by a massive blade rather than a second claw. Such mutations can likely to be attributed to the species' affinity for genetic manipulation – in Metroid Prime, they displayed no qualms in their reports about using the mutagenic properties of Phazon to modify the local wildlife and each other.
Among the Space Pirates' numbers are three recurring Metroid bosses – Kraid, Ridley, and Mother Brain. The Space Pirates are generally the main antagonists in the Metroid games because they are often causing big trouble for the Galactic Federation (the Metroid galaxy's equivalent to the United Nations) with their experiments and take-over plots. In particular, they are infamous for attempting to use the Metroid organisms as biological weapons. Often, with their already existing weapons – wrist-mounted scythes, Galvanic Accelerator Cannons, and Quantum Assault Cannons (the aforementioned clawguns) – as well as their often-superior numbers and cunning battle tactics, the only person who can attempt to defeat their larger bases and have a chance of succeeding is bounty hunter Samus Aran, the main character in the Metroid games. Samus has a particular disliking for the Space Pirates after one of their raids orphaned her. This event was depicted in the e-manga and in the Nintendo Power comic. It was also alluded to in the Metroid Prime instruction manual and game.

hmmm I don't think he said that. He said his reactions are at the speed of sound. Correct me if I'm wrong he never said Cheif could run at the speed of sound.

Listen, "friend", you have been told a million times how the space pirates are better than the elites, but you instead have choseen to ignore all the information that we give you. We have told you a million times how the space pirates are faster and much more intelligent.

Last time I checked, physical strength isn't all that is needed to win a battle. The space pirates have superior technology (not to mention that they didn't rip it off from another race), are faster, and much more intelligent than your average elite..

You asked me, several posts before, how the space pirates are faster and smarter than the elites. If you, again, took the time to scan in the game, then you would actually see how smart they are. I don't give two flipping shits about the engineers, this is between the elites and the space pirates. The space pirates are both warriors and scientists, unlike the elites. And you say that unless they can build a super computer, they are screwed, but tell me what are the turrets, elite pirates, omega pirate, and phazon enhanced metroids, if not weapons that they developed...

As for their agility, have you seen the number of times where they hang from ceilings, break through glass, like after you kill your first metroid in MP, and jump around when engaged in combat? When was the last time we saw an elite jump down from a ceiling?
[B]
I think your confusing the two... Jumping through glass and hanging dont require any form of agility...
Diving, ducking and rolling require minimal amounts....

[B]Your next argument is the most pitiful I've ever seen. The space pirates can be destroyed with "a few shots." You make it sound like shooting a pirate with the powerbeam kills it instantly. The elites aren't exactly invincible either. They can be killed in one shot using a plasma grenade or a rocket launcher. It also doesn't take many hits using a sniper rifle, plasma pistol, energy sword, or shotgun to kill one. So your whole argument about killing them in a few shots is really sad, since the elites die just as fast, if not faster.[B]

[B]And on the argument about the book. You just brush it off saying, "Oh, they' re not needed." Well, they are needed because if they are just simply removed, then why should we pay attention to anything else from the books? Bungi doesn't seem to give two shits about what happens in the books, so why should we believe that MC has reflexes at the speed of sound.[B]
You don't know what happened in the time if took for them to get back to earth... nor does the game say there alive or dead... They could of been on another mission... Point is they weren't in the game to contradict the books so theres no discrepancy....
Check the bungie site... The books feature in there weekly update... Seems they do care... But like most of your arguement its unfounded, So its not supprising theres holes the size of canada here and there... MC speed of sound reflexes are shown in the upcoming film... They show him firing like a man on fire... Should be interesting too see so many people go... Wows They realy did leave out alot of MC's powers so they could make the game more of a challenge... not to mention no human has relexes fast enough to even play the game like that...

[B]And about the motion tracker. I never said that it would show bullets. I said that it would allow him to detect enemies all around him. This, in turn, should help him to continuously avoid the bullets. MC should have enough sense to watch out, when he is being attacked on both sides.
You don't even seem to know anything about the pirates. So I believe that it would be a more accurate assumption that you are the fanboy. Nice attempt at being intelligent though.

Okay maybe he can't move that fast but I think he said that he could run close to like 60 km/h which is still fast enough to quickly sprint across a field dodging bullets with his amazing reflexes then punch his enemy in the face and kill them, but of course he never does that which is what confuses me.
If the game gave MC all his abilites it wouldn't be a challenge or fun... Having him run at 30Mph and have reflexes at the speed of sound would be too uncontrolable...
Think Bullet time all the way through the game where you moving normaly.. You get the picture, Would soon become boring and dull....
If MC didn't have these abilities what would make him differnet to a normal soldier with a shield??? nothing..... So why can 1 of him wipe out 1000's while a normal trooper can only kill a few....
just like the flood wiped through the galaxy...
Yup... halo can out trump metroid...
Ice punk... I have yet to see one post from you that can actually be construed as being ontopic... only lame, "I know you are but what am I?" posts, sheesh....
