-=- Best "Mafia" Movie? -=-

Goodfellas is my favorite. I also liked Casino. I wouldn't count Scarface as a mafia movie unless you are talking about the original Scarface. I really wouldn't count Resevoir Dogs either because that was like a one time job

Scarface gets my vote.

Scarface with Al Pacino? If so that wasn't a mafia movie. He was more of a lone drug-king pin. He does mention the mafia in the movie when he goes :

"Guinies. Mob Guys. I don trust 'em."

I'll give a good 5 stars or so to Goodfellas. The "Am I A Clown" scene with Joe Pesci was really funny. he played such a psycho in that movie. That was a crowning moment in wiseguy history 🙂

The Untouchables. The scene with Robert DeNiro and the baseball bat was classic.

Donnie Brasco

Yeah that was quite disturbing. The other great scenes are when Mallone (Sean Connery) has the one gangster cornered in his home with a sawed off shotgun and tells him that it's typical for a "w*p to bring a knife to a gunfight" and the one scene where Ness drops Frank Nitti off the side of the building. Some great performances.

No Donnie Brasco fans? ❌

1.Donnie Brasco
2.Goodfellas
3.Casino
4.Scarface
5.Godfather

I had one major problem with The Untouchables. The soundtrack. When they were starting to get in a gun fight they didn't play suspenseful or gun fighting music. It was music as if victory was already achieved and made the fights seem pointless.

Definately "Witness to the Mob" for me.

That movie was way too toned down for me. Don't get me wrong, I still liked it.

Gotti is such a great Mafia movie. That would probably be at the top of my list. Witness to the Mob was basically the flipside of the movie Gotti.

In no order.

There's a great little movie that's about 3 hours long called Once Upon A Time In America directed by Sergio Leone back in or around 1980 or so. It starred Robert DeNiro and James Woods in a film spanning the 50+ year love\hate relationship between the two as seen from their early days as kids to their rise in the Jewish. One hell of a movie. Also starts Olga Karlatos (the eye splinter girl in Fulci's Zombie) as a theatre girl.

A wonderful 4-hour masterpiece. This is an excellent epic film and it showcases not only incredibly storytelling but also one of De Niro's understate performances. The last shot is a movie marvel and I'm always moved by it.

There are too many mafia movies to decide on favorites. The Godfather and Goodfellas are classics of course. One thing I've never understood is why Scarface is so well-viewed by so many. It was hard enough to watch it for the first time, and every time I see a clip of it I see great actors in a 3 hour (it should be 2) waste of time with no character development and a pretty average story.

Goodfellas handsdown. Reservoir Dogs is a CLASSIC film, which I hold in the highest regards, but I wouldnt necessarily call it a "mafia" flick. Now calling it a crime/heist flick? Hell yes. When I think of mafia, I think "family" and "generations" and shit like that, hence Goodfellas. RD seemes too muck like a gangster heist flick gone horribly wrong because of the rat in the group type of film.

In no order. Apart from alphabetic.
