Regular passengers have their bags checked.

You, as an importer of goods with the intent to sell, would have to have gone through the customs department which involves a lengthy paperwork process.

Yup i paid $540 to go through but it wuz my moms money. She gave it me because she knew that they were gonna charge me. I wuz scared when they were suspicious about other stuff cuz i dont wanna go to jail in peru.

You know that is not what is supposed to happen? Either you got ripped off, or you just bribed the customs officials.
