Going through customs as a tourist is totally separate from going through customs as an importer/exporter of merchandise with the intention to sell.
You don't pay the customs officials, you have to fill out pages of paperwork. Are you not aware of any of this?

I used to work for an expiditing firm asn had to deal with customs in the U.S, Germany, Spain, Italy, Singapore, U.K., France, Brazil and a few other countries and the customs process was the same every time. I guess Peru is just different eh? 😉

You are making this totally sound like you were taking drugs into the country, or you are lying and can't really answer the questions because you don't know the answers.
