Ok, clarify that. Are you saying my newly created saying on the basis of Orwells saying is wrong...which I totally agree. Or do you say his original saying is wrong, which would astound me since it uis obviously true for the book. Or did you try to say that what Orwell said is not true in reality?

The former. Also, I just wanted to use the pun, is that a crime?

Dammit, stupid internet...I was looking for a great Simpsons quote but the Stupid Internet is stupid...anyways....no it's not a crime.

Mr Burns, right?

If not, then Krusty.

No one thought my rhyme was witty?

🙁

Si tacuisse philosophus mansisse

But indeed it is Mr. Burns. In the One Trillion Dollar Note episode (hehe that rhymes) he says something along the lines of "...and if bribing judges is a crime, so god will, I will also be guilty of that soon....". I thought it would have fitted.

Actually I think it was pretty shitty. (haha witty, pretty, shitty....I am a Rapper)

I didn't read it.

Despite the fact that the 'on-topic' side of my thread see-saw is flying inexorably heavenward, the last sentence there was quite a humourous touch.

What's going on? Why is competent spelling, grammar (yes, the title was intentional) and punctuation such a novelty nowadays?

I come here to relax, and for me that means not minding about punctuation. Maybe I mind my grammar and spelling a bit but I'm pretty sure I still make mistakes against that too.

Fair enough, but I don't only refer to this forum, I mean in general.

Not sure about the 'relax' part though. I never feel the need to throw aside punctuation like an uncomfortable pair of work boots.

Perhaps that's just me.

Can't throw aside what you don't have, or can you?

Because we are talking shit, whereas you are shit?

So, how's REDUNDANCIES? Don't they bug you when you hear people saying WORDY sutff?

I don't find that particularly irritating, unless it's in a 'professional' piece of writing that I want/need to read.

Well, I always here REDUNDANCIES in any 'professional' speech. I even read some on 'professional' writings.

And it bugs me when my manager says "I have business transaction".

in a way its gramatically correct....doesnt make sense though

Actually, it's technically wrong. Redundancy can never be grammatically correct... but it came to the point that it seems correct when people used them over and over again.
