All that i can deal with but sending children to their deaths not so much
Xavier did that too.
In fairness I think Hellion and probably Hope could have taken the Sentinel down or at least stalled it till the other X-Men arrived. The in fighting between him and Wolverine royally pissed me off.

Cyclops is more douche than Stark currently I'd say.
At least they're toning him down. And what happened in Uncanny wasn't his fault.

Xavier sent 16 year old kids up against Magneto, Sentinels and The Juggernaut, and they didn't have half the training that the current kids do.
And they weren't half as powerful either.

Those kids were going to get killed anyways, Cyclops just makes their impending death more of a fight instead of a massacre.

To be honest I don't exactly understand what Wolverine stands for. Summers thinks that being a mutant shouldn't be a life of hiding and running, and that at least in Utopia you can wear your mutant colors openly. Xavier wouldn't/shouldn't agree with Utopia as a concept, Magneto might.

It all depends in the way you see it. Cyclops seems convinced that mutant kind is in a perpetual state of war and persecution, and in his experience that has been true. Fleeing when you're going to be hunted down eventually is very demoralizing -which is still better than dying, but he probably meant some mutants to survive-. IF, you accept Cyclops state-of-war mentality, the civilian population [i]should[/¡] fight in their own war. If they cannot unite, then they will never unite and mutant kind as a segregated population is doomed to failure.
The problem with Cyclops vision: too symbolic. He's currently taking his own ideal direction of how mutant kind should exist, and it doesn't necesarily translate great actions.
Cyclops has always been a douche though.

Summers isn't leading anyone to the slaughter. If not for him, mutants would all be in camps now. He's had to do a harder job than Xavier with more threats at his door, and he's done a better job than almost anyone could expect.

Run where? IIRC Cyclops said it himself a while back that running was going to be ultimately self-defeating.

thankfully they've been toning the vision down, at least gillen has. schism's all kinds of f*cked.
