I didn't post the scans to argue whether they count. But I would suggest that if a clone of any character has identical powers and more importantly identical memories (e.g., experience) then logically that clone would likely perform similarly in battle to the real deal if they fought in the exact same scenario. Food for thought.

I wouldn't have retconned it either. There's no shame in losing to a Thor decked out with the belt of strength, amplified Mjolnir, and battle gear with the Odin force flowing through it.

I agree with your first statement and it isn't something I would dispute.

Yeah, it gives you an idea how much it takes to bring down thanos on his bad day. It could have been his lowest showing till date.

There's no shame in that, but there's certainly in a lot of glory in it being a mere clone that lost.

Th NYPD begs to differ

It's not a low showing looking at the amps Thor had. Wasn't the Thanosi clone amped as well? Too my knowledge he was.

That clone had the Chalice of Ruin that was letting him wipe out life in the entire universe. Thor needed enchanted weapons from Odin to beat him.

I could probably post the full fight so that everything's clear, but I'm feeling kind of lazy. Thor did have to destroy the clone's artifact (and end it's power) before he could kill the clone.

It was a Thanosi, but it was a higher-powered model relative to the one that fought Hulk, Nate, and Ka-Zar, according to Thanos in Infinity Abyss. The only difference he mentioned was it was too destructive in it's thinking. So, I would say it's somewhat comparable to the real deal even if he was defeated in the end.

It was an amped Thanosi. He had powerful artifacts and such.

Starlin is just weird when it comes to Thanos. That Thanosi was far more formidable than the real deal who got rocked all over Asgard by Odin.

Yeah, it isn't Canon. That's why I said "play out".

It prolly just seems weird in todays comic climate. Nowadays there are very few pet characters that a writer won't merc at least once on panel.

Hulk has gotten wrecked. Thor has gotten wrecked a few times this year alone. Hell its almost a running joke between Rulk and Wolverine right now.
