If you think any type of event in the mainstream Universe where reality is altered to bring characters back and so on is non-cannon, that's your prerogative, but I'll hold you to that and there's a lot of stories where such events happen.
Where did you hear that from? There's also some logic problems with such a generalized stance. Ultimately irrelevant however, it was less time travel and more reality shifting so the damage would be undone as I understand it.
