The quality of writing in Marvel has been going downhill exponentially.

It started around the time Joe Q started writing more for Marvel and became Editor and head guy and brought his DC writers with him. 😒

So your basing the whole of marvel's quality on this current event 😬

And Chaos War
And Fear Itself
And World War Hulk

Their big events as a yardstick of their output? Sure. It's like judging Hollywood on the top ten blockbusters in recent memory. Yes, there are a few gems hidden there and then, but as a rough average, its all about your Transfomers 3 and Fast Fives and Twilights.

It's been bad for about 2-3 years now, imo, with a few exceptions. Flagship books like X-Men and Avengers especially.

Whoa; don't lump Twilight in with those movies. Those movies have merit.

Exactly "With a few exceptions"

so yeah not like every single book is bad... like some people on this forum make out to be.

On average, though, what would you say?

The fact that you have exceptions, rather than the norm, says it all, really.

What is the norm for you?

The big mainstream comics. The fact that if I were to walk into my comic shop, out of 20 comics, 15 will be AvX and its tie-ins.

So with percentages like that, yeah, atm AvX would be the norm.

It was the same during Chaos War, or Fear Itself etc.

Yes, I'm sure you will be able to name a couple of good books that were published by Marvel in the past few years. But as a proportion of the total number of comics released by Marvel? They would have been minor in comparison.
