It's been bad for about 2-3 years now, imo, with a few exceptions. Flagship books like X-Men and Avengers especially.

Whoa; don't lump Twilight in with those movies. Those movies have merit.
The big mainstream comics. The fact that if I were to walk into my comic shop, out of 20 comics, 15 will be AvX and its tie-ins.
So with percentages like that, yeah, atm AvX would be the norm.
It was the same during Chaos War, or Fear Itself etc.
Yes, I'm sure you will be able to name a couple of good books that were published by Marvel in the past few years. But as a proportion of the total number of comics released by Marvel? They would have been minor in comparison.
