Maybe Xavier? He seems to have a role still to play.
Although , come to think of it , it may as well be Cap . Who knows ? Lets wait until the issue comes out .

Emma is only one besides Scott :
Also Scott has got to be the worst leader when it comes to knowing the feeling of his team. Emma was pretty much telling him that she could feel the Phoenix corrupting her and he didn't even notice. Now it appears that it's completely taken over and it could have been avoided if he listened to her.

Well, that's what happens when they assassinate his character for years on end.

It wouldn't really make much sense giving him the Phoenix anyways . History has shown that even Omega-level mutants like Jean and Rachel have barely contained the Phoenix , and Xavier(like the P5 before him) is no Omega .
So, the Phoenix Force will eventually be subsumed as part of the Gamma Force?
Makes sense, Hulk is the Strongest Cosmic Force There Is!
Lame way of getting rid of two PFAs, have them kill each other.
I think Cyclops is the only one who comes out of this thing with some credit (both from the Avengers and the X-men). He didn't start the war, he had a legitimate reason for fighting it though and he's kept the PF from doing anything evil through him. It's not his fault that the PF chose Namor, Emma and Co to cohabit with too...
I wonder if Hulk will just ThunderClap the Phoenix right out of Phoeclops or whether he'll let Phoeclops make a fight of it before ending him.

Peter apparently had his spine crushed, broken nose, took several (albeit obviously not full power) shots, the big explosion in that scan and still walked out on his own two feet.Looks as though the original big green will return next issue when the Avengers amass what looks to be a small army. I still can't wait for this event to end though, 12 issues and countless tie-ins weren't necessary to tell this story.
You're right. This is one of the worst events Marvel has ever done, even ignoring forgetting lots of continuity, the story itself is weak. I don't know if you've read a lot of the DC 52, but it's blowing away anything Marvel is doing right now.
