Lmao.I go to work and return home to this.
A for effort, Damborg. I take back what I said earlier; you can be Beta Ray Bill instead of Thunderstrike. 👆
All jokes aside, having read some of JH's latest Formspring comments, I've got a hunch that Thor may actually redeem himself in the second issue of Avengers. We'll see.
"For years to come the shadow of Peter Parker is going to be draped over the book. There's nothing you can do about that. But new cast members will come in. Life goes on. Peter Parker fans will sort of fade away over the months and years, and you'll have a bunch of people who only know the new cast. It's probably similar to what happened with Ben Reilly back in the day. And fans seem to want him back."
Seems legit.

I find it somewhat telling that both Slott and editors are basically telling us that Parker's fans are probably going to be alienated if not outright pissed by these turn of events.
Why do you find it telling? Didn't they pretty much say the same thing prior to pushing their trashy One More Day storyline? Nothing new. Spidey fans have been getting phucked over for years.

Spidey fans who stuck it out past One More Day actually got some great stories under Slott. I was pretty disappointed with OMD/BND, but Slott's run on Spidey has actually been pretty fantastic. Of course, you have "old school" fans who refuse to back the title/character after the OMD, but still, it's hard to deny that some great stories have been told.
Superior Spider-Man could be fantastic for all we know. If anything, it'll be a diversion (probably an entertaining one) until Parker returns, much like Jean Paul's tenure as Batman, Dick's run as Batman, Bucky Cap, Eric Masterson Thor, etc, etc.
I do find it telling that they're outright saying Parker fans are probably going to drop the book instead of trying to convince them to stay on.

When did Thor work Gladiator and looking at low showings, Thor is FAR worse than Gladiator. At least Gladiator can withstand a punch from Hulk and at least Gladiator one punched Rachel whereas Thor got two paneled by her. At least Gladiator can take on a Phoenix 5 member without him getting humiliated by a single member with her ending it by stepping on his face. At least people like Tutinax didn't whip Gladiator a** TWICE and then right after, didn't get stompedby Taurus. I can go on for days with this crap. Stop trying to downplay Gladiator to make your precious Thor with Nightcrawler level durability look good.
