When did Thor work Gladiator and looking at low showings, Thor is FAR worse than Gladiator. At least Gladiator can withstand a punch from Hulk and at least Gladiator one punched Rachel whereas Thor got two paneled by her. At least Gladiator can take on a Phoenix 5 member without him getting humiliated by a single member with her ending it by stepping on his face. At least people like Tutinax didn't whip Gladiator a** TWICE and then right after, didn't get stompedby Taurus. I can go on for days with this crap. Stop trying to downplay Gladiator to make your precious Thor with Nightcrawler level durability look good.
Carver, you are the MAN right now.
These last few pages.....
I don't even know what to think. Some people claim that Marvel hates Thor but that just seems like a very silly thing to say, why would Marvel hate Thor? On the other hand, to accumulate more low showings in one year than he has in the last 50 is one ridiculous coincidence. And it's not like Marvel writers each live in an isolated bubble, they're aware of the each others work.
The most baffling part about all of this? Thor's more famous now than he ever has been, and historically that has only gotten characters wanked. Whatever, Thor better break out of this rut soon or he'll be put in the same position as Wonder Man/Sentry were in the past. And the only way that slate gets cleaned is to have a major overhaul or die for a few years. Neither of which is going to happen.
I blame the Avengers. Because of the movie and shit, it's like mandatory to have Thor guest star with the Avengers in a title even if the writer has completely no use for him or doesn't want him there. It doesn't matter if Thor only appears for one panel only to get one shotted by the Rhino or something, has no dialogue etc. as long as he appears on the cover with Captain America/Iron Man.

I would imagine that the Avengers has had a very significant role in Marvel's comics and how continuity is being shaped (the "core" Avengers roster/Avengers Assemble, Nick Fury, Jr. Banner being super-bros with Tony Hulk being savage again, etc.)
Eh, it's whatever. Most of those showings when compared to what Thor deals with in his own titles for the past handful of years are easily and indisputably low end or outright PIS.

Yup.
Pretty much. If you stick to only the main Thor title, he's just as powerful as ever. Which is why I've chosen to ignore anything outside of the main title post Heroic-Age.

It's obvious to be that Marvel just decided to stop jobbing Hulk to Thor. Since Hulk is now able to be written as he was intended, every villain needed to be upgrade to Hulk level, and Odinson having stayed at his lowly normal Thor level can no longer compete. He's obsolete 😈
In all seriousness, though, Hulk, in spite of enjoying a resurgence of mainstream popularity, is not even close to Pak's wanktastic levels. Aaron, Waid, Bendis, etc, have all decided to say "phuck that" and write him at Savage/Gravage levels. Which has both "nerfed" Hulk in terms of power as well as basically take a dump on his development as a character.
Meanwhile, Thor continues to go on to kill skyfathers and shit in his own title while suffering from bouts of bipolar rants.
