I haven't read the comic, but was it a blast of did things just vanish? Maybe those planets touching when they shouldn't have and because of that the universes ceased to exist?
It's probably how SBP wanted to destroy the DC universe by destroying OA. If SBP had destroyed OA the universe ceases to exist or is destroyed as well.

Regardless of how you look at it. Two universes vanished and only Hyperion (who was in the very heart of the said event) survived. Not thru exotic powers (as the factoring in of any such special deus ex machina was never alluded to) but simple durability.
Surviving an event that would cause 2 universes to vanish/nullification would actually be even a bigger feat than surviving the explosion of 2 universes IMO.
People need to let the feat be and just chalk it up to PIS if they're unable to swallow it.
