I agree with your first sentence.

However, it's important to note that, during the time of these events, Spider-Man WAS greater than Superboy in terms of overall fight effectiveness. Remember that this was back in 1996 when writers were going with the telekinectic aspect of Connor. His durability was not really comparable to that of a true Kryptonian unless he was braced for an attack, he COULD be taken out by tactics of the sort Parker/Reilly (pick the Spidey of your choice) used against him.

No, the character's name, codename, at least, believe it or not, IS "Access". His power, among other things, is to cross time, space, and dimensions.

So, he's the "bridge" or "access" point from one Universe to another.

LoL the DC/Marvel Access crossovers were so full of shit. It was worse than the fan-voted crossover. Given Access happened like 10 months later it almost felt like they were just trying one up the fan-voted one.
