The Starbrand came out looking pretty weak in this issue, imo.
It looks about as strong as the Newuniversal counter part. Possibly stronger, we never got a grasp of how potent it was. At least here, they give us a ballpark of Planetary Defender/Destroyer.
If it follows the Newuniversal mythos, he has the capacity to not only discharge blasts. But manipulate time/space, and some other nice exotics.

More proof Hickman is a moron. He's attempting to write this "grand" cosmic story about broken realities and he's failing miserably.
I mean ANY high herald being can stop these incursions by destroying the planet causing it. They could just call in Thor or an enraged Hulk and I'm sure they are capable of busting a planet.
Hell, REED has a Celestial killing gun in his closet, why does he need to reverse engineer Black Swan's bomb (to blow up a planet) with T'Challa's help? I'm sure he has deadlier crap than that taking up space in his garage. Makes no phucking sense. 🙄

Yup. It's basically a herald level artifact now.More proof Hickman is a moron. He's attempting to write this "grand" cosmic story about broken realities and he's failing miserably.
I wouldn't say its necessarily herald level, this was a pretty unexperienced user casually handling some of the top heralds in Earth. I know lacking experience is a cop out for the showing, but I see it as something Hickman can potentially pull.

This is a very DC-ish storyline in my book, because in a gray morality universe such as Marvel's of course it would only make sense to boost a planet, but DC heroes would need to find a way. Not sure exactly where I stand there.
Also destroying the world may as well trigger everything falling down or whatever -cop out # 2-.

Actually Reed's enthropy gun worked with the Celestial because it was "bleeding" energy, the gun just made the ratio of such energy loss so high that the Celestial died out. It isn't just a "Celestial boosting gun".
That said, Hickman should know better than anyone that Reed is more than capable of busting planets by himself. It's only logical considering the crap Reed has pulled off in the past.
In a totally unrelated topic: Brace for the incoming thread Image Angela vs Marvel Angela 😛

That was the worst part. Taurus of the Zodiac Cartel >>>>>Starbrand according to Hickman.
I think the sense is that Reed and that don't want to repeatedly kill billions of people to stop incursions. Sure, they can destroy the others Earths, but the story so far seems to be about how far they're willing to go.
It'd be boring as hell and terrible characterisation and plotting if the solution was getting Thor to commit genocide a hundred times.

It's not like they would be asking him to commit genocide just for fun.
All this is secondary anyway. This moron, Hickman, wrote that whole "Council of Reeds" garbage. Reed has God Killing tech at his beck and call. I'm sure he has planet busting bombs too. Why does he need to reverse engineer Black Swan's planet killing bomb? Why does he need T'Challa's help in doing so?
ANY high herald or "High Science" types can stop these incursions.
This entire storyline makes ZERO sense.
Lol at the starbrand being only High Herald. An inexperienced user just took on (and tanked attacks) one of the most powerful team in Marvel right now. This alone puts him at high trans. Being able to casually bust planets doesn't mean that your power level stops at high Herald, you also have to include other factors as well. Let's use Thanos as an example...I would easily rank him as a planet buster but I also don't believe he would have done as good against that team like the inexperienced Starbrand user did BUT, I would still rank him as high trans. I think some of you all are looking a lil too much at this fight (even though Hulk is a beast).
Good job Hickman.

* just gold... i often get bored in PVP battles, i like farming CP's in 4.4 and doing Spec Ops... got all Spec Ops heroes except for that elusive Mocking Bird...
* do we have a Marvel: Avengers Alliance forum thread here in KMC?let's talk about this on a proper thread, you filthy agent... 😛

It's as if you genuinely don't see how transparent you are.
Irony...
