We don't know for sure whether there was no metaphorical, faustean style price involved or not though. Odin was freaked out when he discovered that Thor enchanted it, and I am not sure that doing something which would only have the end result of a couple of dead Celestials(something that shouldn't bother Odin so much anyways) is a logical reason for Odin to go into a viking manstrual period. When Odin himself couldn't do the same? The Destroyer had its chance against the Celestials, and it lost. Horribaly so. Unless you want to depend on some future writer retconning that entire storyline, it's silly to argue that the Destroyer would be a threat to the Celestials. It's barely gone to 9 or 10 issues at this point. And the Celestials proper haven't even responded to the Apoc Twins' transgressions yet. There's enough leeway for Remender to add some extra spice to Jarnbjorn during that time.
Alright then, fair enough. Like I said, Odin was worried for this exact reason. Celestials are being assassinated like flies by the Twins. Based on previous hints, I think the entire race my descent on the 616 or something.
What kind of nonsense logic is that? If it's revealed that Hogun is suddenly the most powerful being in the Multiverse, is it silly to argue he'd lose to Thor because he was beaten soundly before? The Destroyer can access far more power based on recent revelation. Heck, it even seemed to be able to hold the energy of the World Seed.
That's possible.
