Good question. Tbh, I didn't even know that Thor could be amped by prayers-- although it'd make sense.

I've really only seen this idea alluded to in alternate history/future stories, never in continuity. Earth X, for example, basically has Thor's power (and his very nature) determined by those that believe in him and/or worship him. But it's of course not set in continuity.

It's not an unreasonable assumption, though.

Are we not supposed to believe Thor was amped via the prayers of every single god across time? That's the impression I got.

Still a powerful showing, and in amazing issue, closing out an amazing story arc.

No, prayers can affect Thor but amp himself from them? Like a power boost? Haven't seen this.

There was the Chaos War Thor mini. But that wasn't a physical power up in the sense of a Sun Dip, but a spark of hope. It wasn't until TOAA was channeled through Thor in the end that prayer was a legit power up.

However, Fraction did acknowledge this ability but it was deemed parasitic and the ways of the Old gods and something the Serpent adopted.

I'll think about it more when I get home.

Maybe it's just American Gods rules, but didn't it happen when he was fighting Glory too?

Universal-level energy absorption multiplied by every timeline in existence.

Uber "feat".

Not too terribly bad, but still kind of... Meh.

Omega Level Bobby handling business as usual.

Anyone have scans from Infinity: Against the Tide? Surfer just speedblitzed and killed several Aleph robots.

How powerful are Aleph robots individually?

Just read Infinity. It was an OK showing from Surfer IMO. Nothing out of the ordinary. The best showing I saw from the aleph was that one that sent Cap to the hospital with a couple punches

Nobody up'd scans of Surfer's little skirmish with an army of sentinal type robots?

Sad that they gave him his silver underpants again ... ❌
But awesome to see he's retained the recent personality upgrade.

Killing with board and diving/smashing through the robots ... literally cutting a swathe through a planet razing army.

I guess it's going to be downhill from here for Surfer, there'll be no point in any other characters playing hero if he's written at a competent level.

3rd times a charm:

The artwork is just beautiful (looking at the comic itself, right now), but why have the ****ed with Surfer?

He looks like a ****ing led golem! His head and facial expression is dire...

Don't recall seeing those robots before, what species do they belong to?

And why is Surfer injured by a blummin' blade? He should have healed up in a panel, not carried over the injury...

Anyway, promising beginnings, but Marvel have ****ed up Surfer and Galactus with regularity, this is probably not going to change even with a nice display for Surfer.

I was just about to mention that.

It's an Aleph robot similar from recent Avengers books. World destroyers...

Don't forget, in the World Seed arc, Galactus ended up tethering him to Earth. The further he strayed, the weaker he'd become. And who knows how far that Skrull planet is.

They look like cheap IM/The Day The Earth Stood Still clones.

The army seems impressive in number and Surfer's efficiency in slicing through them was reassuring, but they don't strike me as anything impressive individually.

Have they got any feats against The Avengers?

And aren't the Avengers busy fighting/recruiting/training Star Brand now? I don't recall seeing them at all.

Ah, yes that's true... he was busy wearing dungarees and communing with nature (at a really intimate level) ... hmm, wonder what he's doing so far out (and that must be atleast a few solar systems away).

Yup. Planets need stars to revolve around. The CLOSEST star to Earth IRL is Proxima Centauri and that's like 4.25 LIGHTYEARS away (25.5 TRILLION miles away). So if the Surfer's power really does diminish the farther away he is from Earth (because of Galactus' meddling) then that is one crazy @$$ showing for him.

EDIT
Just saw Branlor's post, if the planet was in Skrull space, then that's even crazier!

Didn't know that. OK, NOW its an impressive feat.
