I think Ulty is playing stupid, and using them as much as possible-- when they are longer of any use, and/or try to kill him, he will slay them in rapid succession.
Same here, there are too many seperate factions in this event for the justice league to be the end all be all. And right now ultraman has too many enemies even on his side, he definitely won't come out on top. Also I think ultraman is anticipating the betrayal of owlman and superwoman and is secretly prepared for it. He is aware that they have a romance going on behind his back correct? I know he is still unaware of the child though.
But aside from Luthor and Owlman, there's also the real trump card: the mysterious hooded character the CSA are keeping imprisoned... The guy that, per Owlman, nearly tore them apart back on Earth 3... The guy that Ulty apparently has a soft spot for.
So yeah, I just don't see the conclusion to this as simple as Superman/the League reentering the fray and beating Ulty and the CSA. Johns isn't gearing it that way at all.

or maybe, ulty really is stupid, 😂.
on the mystery guy that they brought, I have a hunch that its their luthor.
haha Oh God, Shuma. You never fail to dissapoint going out on a bang
Gets penetrated by Blue Marvel
Gets owned by the white tiger god
Of course if we go by Spidey's comments that it was just a fingernail-sized physical manifestation of Shuma on 616, it's a little bit less painful to watch but still. Squidboy gets owned again.

Ultraman beat the christ out of Black Adam, with little more than a bloody nose to show for it(although the 'battle' did force Ulty to replenish his k-nite reserves afterward.) He also tanked BA's magical lightning:
Ultraman: ""SHAZAM"? How silly." 😂 classic._______
Badass Adam indeed.

Did the Wings of Needless Sorrow play any role in this? That's the only thing that makes sense because this is some bullsh|t.
Nope not at all lol. Only mentioned by Kaluus at #2 but otherwise wasnt mentioned at all in this issue.
Yeah its kinda stupid cause if we go by this books logic, Thor or other featless Gods could simply bring the fight to shuma physically
