Charles Soul is actually killing it on Red Lanterns and Swamp Thing. He's treating those characters with a LOT of respect. He's also one of DC's better writers to boot. Don't know why he's treating Superman like a weak feeb.

I think they just do it for dramatic purposes.

He was holding back, mental blocks, and etc for fear of hurting the ship. If he got serious he might lift it too hard and kill it.

It really is getting out of control at DC isn't it? Superman isn't super anymore over there. He hasn't felt super in a long time. It's funny, the only time he gets the treatment he deserves anymore is in alternate realities.

What is DC's problem? I mean seriously? Even if it is for dramatic purposes, its still stupid. Does anyone really think he won't be able to lift it? What is wrong with making Superman actually...well...super and having him lift it effortlessly?

Christ, am I the only one who remembers him bench pressing planetary weight... for days on end...without any exposure to solar rays...all the while never coming close to testing the upper limits of his strength..?

I agree with you though.. I don't know how many times they can tell us Superman is one of the most powerful beings on the planet. Every character has low showings, its just how it is.

Well, I don't want the thread closed, so the last thing I'll say is: yes, the bench-pressing feat was awesome. That and punching H'el so hard the whole planet was shaking were his best feats. Besides those two though, what has he done that is impressive strength wise? It almost seems like DC is going out of it's way to contradict those feats lately. Yes, everyone has low feats, but in Superman unchained it was revealed that both the Russian and American militaries can stomp Supes anytime they want, in addition to having SOMEONE ELSE (Wraith) shield SUPES from GUNFIRE...he seriously said get behind me, you can't take it...That's...yeah...what other character is getting treated like this day in and day out in their own books?
