Captain America consistently does better than 99% of characters he has no buiseness fighting along even. Just because Thor didn't go Voidtry-killing lightning on his posessed friend doesn't mean the writer was lazy. Were the other things he could've done? Sure. But that could be said about the vast majority of the fights where he doesn't wtfstomps his opponents. And honestly did anyone buy into "I'm done holding back" thing. He'd never cut loose in a situation like that.
So what you're saying is that I should count my blessings that Steve didn't outperform Thor who was about as useful as powerless Wolverine?
No, the writer was lazy because Thor was about as effective as Spider-Woman against a symbiote Spider-Man. A symbiote by the way that is vulnerable to extreme heat and sound against the God of Thunder and lightning. Who can suddenly only shoot stray bursts that hurt his teammates.
I don't expect Thor to stomp all his opponents but I'd prefer it if he wasn't a complete waste of ink.
You know what the worst part is? The Symbiote wasn't even at FULL power. It got stronger after merging with Flash's pieces. Thor was lucky Spider-Man wasn't going all-out. haermm2 Yes, this wasn't a lazily written piece of shit fight at all. 😐

I understand you're upset Thor had trouble with Venom (then again so has Juggs, Rulk, Thing and others). Can we just agree that was an extremely good showing for a greatly amped Spider-man and move on? Things like that happen left and right in comics and very often not by a meta that is amped to an unknown degree but by street level humans and people stll dont blame the lazy writing.

Wasn't it a weakness mentioned in this very issue?
Sure it was a great showing for an amped Spider-Man and at the same time, a terrible showing for Thor who looked worse against Venom Spider-Man than he did against Thanos.
They should and I'm certain many do.

It was, that's why I called it an error. Tbf to the writer it was the case throughout the entire Flash mini. Even though the weakness was gone for years then came back without any explanation whatsoever.
