If it was that much trouble for him, Then they shouldn't have released any Avengers books until mid Feb

doesn't really worry me either way i've stopped getting his Avengers book, Just dislike how he tries to make his stories out to be some big epic event.

i actually agree this this. all his stories have a similar feel to them as well. i WAS a fan, but i find his material really just drags and never seems to live up to the promise. /shrug

What kind of edgy ass shit have I been reading in the past few pages of this thread.

I called this MONTHS ago and people attacked me for being a hater.

The tip off was the raping of the New Universe characters by that clown.

His run(s) on Fantastic Four, FF, and SHIELD were excellent, imo--some of the best Marvel stuff I've read. East of West(an Image title) has been quite good as well.

I agree that his Marvel NOW titles haven't been overtly impressive, though.

well, lookit the big brain on you....

i thought the ff stuff was good, not great. it took too long to pull it all together. the avengers stuff started off really well, very engaging, but damn, it too is really dragging. you think you come to a crux but it just seems to lead to something else. bring things to a head already and move on to something else.

On the other hand those events that Marvel gave like 6 issues, they have mostly been critized for. The normal outcry being that the story is to unengaging, characters rushed etc. I think it's hard water to navigate, especially to a harbor where most are satisfied with the end result. But that is just my take on it.

The big conclusion to his forever arc aka the Celestial fight is the main reason why most people think his work is that stellar. Though I personally believe that him taking a different route with Franklin than most writers do is part of the reason why his ff run is so well-liked by diehard fans.

Eg. people on cbr were practically orgasming to issue after issue of his run specifically from Fantastic Four #601-611, along with the launch of the Future Foundation series. Though his work with stories involving Celestials in general appears quite stellar from the onset with the prime examples being the Fantastic Four and SHIELD runs.

Edit: Haven't really caught up with his Avengers stuff(including Infinity), though I've read quite a few mixed reviews across different sites(ign, cbr, weeklycomicbookreview etc.).

don't get me wrong--i enjoyed the ff stuff. he had some great ideas, very creative. but from start to end that arc was what 2+years of books?? that's far too long imo. i can be as patient as the next guy but that is a bit long for me. i also really liked how he started out the avengers stuff, but it feels, again, as if there is no end in sight for the incursions arc. there are so many dangling plot threads, i'm concerned i may not even be alive by the time he sorts them all out. east of west is just one more example of something that feels like it won't end for a very long time. in a sense, he reminds me a little of rr martin's game of thrones and even jordan's wheel of time. no matter how good things are, if you don't have a sense of an ending, or a pay-off, it's difficult to maintain a certain level of engagement. anyway, those are purely personal thoughts. in general his ideas are progressive and creative. i just wish he'd get to the point quicker. though he tried in infinity, and that fizzled at the end, so, maybe it's just not in him.

Leo is such a hater ahah

Anyways, I think that Hickman's FF has the advantage that it actually introduced lot of stuff that moved the FF mythos forward. And that sh_t was stuck for decades with people doing minor changes and rehearsing previous plots to no end.

I thought Flash actually did really well in that film. His attacks were rocking DS, his durability was up there with the others, and he was being a bit more reactive with his powers.

This is awesome
