well, lookit the big brain on you....

i thought the ff stuff was good, not great. it took too long to pull it all together. the avengers stuff started off really well, very engaging, but damn, it too is really dragging. you think you come to a crux but it just seems to lead to something else. bring things to a head already and move on to something else.

The big conclusion to his forever arc aka the Celestial fight is the main reason why most people think his work is that stellar. Though I personally believe that him taking a different route with Franklin than most writers do is part of the reason why his ff run is so well-liked by diehard fans.

Eg. people on cbr were practically orgasming to issue after issue of his run specifically from Fantastic Four #601-611, along with the launch of the Future Foundation series. Though his work with stories involving Celestials in general appears quite stellar from the onset with the prime examples being the Fantastic Four and SHIELD runs.

Edit: Haven't really caught up with his Avengers stuff(including Infinity), though I've read quite a few mixed reviews across different sites(ign, cbr, weeklycomicbookreview etc.).

I've said before that his plots are akin to Rube Goldberg machines. Tedious and superfluously complex.

I also think that he's contributed to the negative effect of trivializing certain cosmic themes in some ways (though he's not alone in that regard) i.e. The Celestials (paper tigers), the Infinity Gauntlet (everybody has one), The Annihilation Wave (casually pwned), Post annihilation Annihilus and the Cosmic Control Rod (Pwned by Johnny Storm and kept on a leash). Though to be fair, diminishing returns every time some powerful villain or artifact makes an appearance isn't necessarily something that's new in comics. Thanos seems to be the only villain immune to this.

Damn! Zauriel just got owned! Blight is MOST impressive. Even hints that the Voice/God himself isn't able to destroy him.

If there is no further context behind that, it will concrete the shit out of Blight's abstract-esque status. Last issue he vaporized PS with a gesture, now this week he literally eats Zauriel himself.

Jesus.

Because Starlin won't allow it. He's rumored to be doing a project for Marvel soon involving Thanos. Any idiocy from Hickman would have been retconned immediately. So his lazy @$$ didn't even try.

I gotta say, the weekly incredulity over the feats coming out of that title is hilarious.

They are doing something big in pretty much every issue associated with the Blight arc--making each one of them count--in order to legitimize the threat. If they'd of done the same thing with Forever Evil, it wouldn't have become so stale, and its non-related tie-ins wouldn't be overshadowing it.

Hater. uhuh

Yup. But he was on meltdown mode in the scan and about to blow.
