The double standard is expected though.
MoS tried to be realistic, Avengers didn't. The thing is, if a superhuman battle was depicted as realistic it would be more like a plane bombarding a populated city than a regular combat. It would be a calamity and utterly painful to watch, think the original Godzilla. And this is what people saw in MoS.
It's not intrinsically bad to go that route... But it has to be measured with a different standard.

I'm confused... didn't Batman use the same yellow powerring fighting Power Ring as Sinistro is using? And didn't that run out of power?
