Unchained isn't great, tbh. Superman, when this reboot started, was doing really well in terms of who was writing him. Even with Superman being the weaker book, you still had two guys working on the character that knew their shit.

Now... What the ****.

True but even Morrisons work floundered towards the end of his run. Who knows maybe Ellis was right about Superman and how serialization hurts him more than most heroes.

What did Ellis say?

Yeah, the past year or so Superman has been receiving the same treatment Thor got during AvX. Dunno what the deal is... 👇

I'm hoping that Johns coming back to the book will help get Superman back on track. He's one of a small number of writers I have zero concern about when it comes to portraying Superman.

I wish he was writing the Superman & Wonder Woman book tbh.

Even Morrison at half mast is still a better Superman than most of the stuff that's come since.

Yeah, Johns really can write a great Superman when he wants to.

I'll be ecstatic if Johns gives Supes even 1/4 of the treatment he gives Barry or Hal... And tbh, Superman needs that right now. This punching bag crap needs to stop.

True, but you can tell that Morrison was burned out, and/or had some bad blood toward DC, by the end of his run on Action. His stint on the book started out brilliantly, but became a rushed messed at the end. Real shame.

Agreed. I got enough of that in the animated movies to last me a lifetime. I really don't need to see it in comics too. I get that Superman is the "tank" of the League, but come on.

Yeah @ Morrison. All that editorial shit just ruined it for him, I think. At the start, he was so happy about writing Superman, and then it all went to hell.

That the concept of superman is weighed down (from a character standpoint ) when it has to adhere to the status quo standards of most serialized comics. His concept is a more pure idea that becomes diluted from the constant battles that have no ending. Could be true. I mean why is it that a huge portions of the best superman stories are non-canon?

This is probably what happened in the end, they didn't want him to have free reign over the new version of Supes and it went sour.

Also people, this is an ownage thread, keep on topic!

Agreed Bentley. Wonder Woman being > Superman is a topic for another thread.

Ultraman called them back to base, and deposited a giant squad of villains to deal with the Rogues. Grodd is also back.

Just when you think you seen the most pointless wasted pages ever, this page might be the most Bendis page ever written

(he also had Oracle call herself a "minder" too, which I'm 90 percent sure she's never referred to herself like that before... JEAN GREY IS AN EARTHER MINDER)

Bendis owns comicbook writing.

Meh, that's not that bad of a showing. Superman showed he was stronger than either of them here.

Tossed both of them away like flies but he was written quite dumbly here with no sense of surrounding or his opponent.

It hurts doesn't it? 😈

Nope. That's a job for WW fans.

Odin vs. Galactus(part deux) next week..?

So we have (what sounds like) a depleted Thor against a depleted Galactus... Should be fun seeing them headbutt each other...

I'm curious to though whether this incident happened before or after Gorr came calling?

^Apparently afterwards. Since those obnoxious granddaughters of his are involved in this issue as well.

Shouldn't it be 'before' since KT went back to full power (or close to it) during and AFTER his fight with Gor.? This version of Thor doesn't seem to possess a great portion of the OF.
