Nuclear radiation is the same thing as solar radiation. Or have you not studied the basic astronomy chapter which is there in every secondary school physics book?

In which case I'd suggest reading up Resnick and Halliday or some shit like that. Great way to re-educate yourself on college-level physics.

He's talking about what was stated/show in the comic, in which case he is correct.

Calm down.

Remember AvX and how these same guys were mourning Thor's fate? Comic fans are fickle.

Yes you are correct, that will be hotter than the core of the sun, but not hotter than the corona which in some places reaches temperatures of 3 million K

3>200?

Methinks your math is a little off.

Since nuclear radiation is gamma radiation, does this mean Superman would die instantly if he fought the Hulk?

😂

Can you post that scan where that was stated?

All he says is that his cells absorbed too much radiation and getting power from the Sun hurts as a result:

I don't see how that translates to him being devoid of solar juice.

[edit]

Epi posted it.

Does the comic state that nuclear radiation is different from solar radiation?

Superman got overcharged, and then just ate the rest of the nuke IMO

👆

He was clearly undergoing a radio-OD.

But that shows why he was in that condition, his cells absorbed all that nuclear radiation and drove out all the solar radiation.

😬

I think the radiation essentially replaced the sunlight in his cells, ergo his zombie-like appearance. When the sunlight began hitting him again, it did begin replenishing him, but the process was painful and quite lengthy.

Hadta get awl dat gammah outta hym.

Show me where exactly is it stated in that scan that the radiation "drove out" the solar nutrients from his cells.

Why would Nuclear Radiation DRIVE OUT the Solar energy from his cells?

I think his energy levels were drained by the explosion and combined with the huge quantities of radiation, it started seeping into his cells.

Lol.

edit- Seems Galan is right. Sunlight doesn't consist of gamma rays:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunlight#Composition_and_power

Which means its different from the ionizing radiation emitted by nukes.

The direct implication of which is this:

Superman is becoming more like Captain Planet every day. The only that is missing is the rings.

I'll admit, that made me lol.
