No. This is pure BS. You want to introduce a new character, fine. But why humiliate one of the biggest icons you have? And since when its so easy to cut off Thor's arm?
Considering he used Thor's super axe to cut the arm off it's not really that bad.

That's the point. He's gonna get kicked while down, only so he can rise again even better than before. It's gonna be great.

Pretty much. It should be clear that Aaron loves his badass Thor moments. Its not like Thor is going to be a one-armed, one-legged drunken hobo by the end of the whole story.

One armed would be cool tho. We better get a homage to King Thor owning Hulk and Thing.

Now we know why Thor had a metal arm in this little bromance scene with Hype. 😛

Loving Thor without the hammer. They should give him flight though. What book is this?

Avengers 35. I like Thor without Mjolnir too, I wish Marvel would give him his phucking book back.

I've always thought that top tiers without flight are lame 👆

This book....just wow.

Odin not being able to lift Mjolnir is honestly one of the dumbest moments in recent history. It makes absolutely no sense, he enchanted the hammer and has absolute control over it as shown as recently as Fear Itself.

I know he's depressed and doesn't have Mjolnir but why is he suddenly useless and so much weaker? How are any Frost Giants able to restrain him? How is Malekith able to just cut his arm off?

This doesn't even make any sense in the context of Jason's own run, heck Thor's already beat up Malekith without Mjolnir under his pen. I know that his Thor has shown that his dials go from 1 to 11 depending on his mentality but even Young Thor was far more effective.

And we lost the God of Thunder series for this? Thor beaten and humiliated just to introduce a new character?

People wonder why so many long time fans were pissed about this change. It has nothing to do with the new God of Thunder being female. Conan could have picked up the hammer and all the complaints would remain.

One of the best runs on the character is canceled and he gets sidelined in his own book. He loses his hammer because of a whisper (Which still makes no sense as Mjolnir does not define worthiness on what you think about yourself). Now he's apparently depressed and useless and loses his arm. Heck, this new character even steals his name.....

Man, I want to be optimistic but anyone who thinks long time fans don't have a reason to be really upset about this need to imagine such changes applying to their favorite. I hope the sales on this tank and it crashes and burns. I'm not against new things and changes, but I am against poorly planned plots because of PC crap.

Oh yea, let's not forget them introducing Angela, who is apparently the rightful heir to the throne (Which completely demeans one of the largest parts of Thor's origins) and beats him up. I've always wanted women to have a bigger role in large, more mainstream titles...until now.

I agree...that's why I'm glad Hulk have something close to flight in his powerset (see what you tried to do there).

Bulletproof Chicken:

Perhaps the greatest scene I have ever read. Blows Thor out of the water. 👆

Nothing regarding Hulk of course.

He's no top tier biscuits

A guess the identity of Thor series, now?

Gonna go out on a limb here.

TWO options immediately suggested to me, though I haven't been following the series well enough to go with either one.

Thor is either:

A. Loki.

Loki was changed into a woman recently if memory serves?
And somebody posted that Odin himself lost the right to wield Mjolnir?
And the story involves FROST Giants taking over?

Added to all that, if Marvel wanted to continue the trend of major rival villains taking over heroes' mantles, to say little of generating maximum controversy, this would make the most sense. Loki has Frost Giant heritage; if something prevented Odinline Asgardian Magic to operate HE'D still have access to Mjolnir-controlling power. He has loyalty only to himself but MIGHT, just might take on a fight for his Father and Brother's realm ...

--or--

B. The Enchantress

Secret Wars revealed some of the depth of feeling she has for Thor.
She considered switching sides for him back then and even in the retcon of the event. She's got Asgardian magic aplenty, and likely some from other sources as well. In other works, where Asgard was threatened, and Frost Giant assaults certainly count, she's made clear where her loyalties lie.
She was actually the first person to come to mind, but Loki fits Marvel's mindset better.
.

If I were to hazard guesses at more choices, they would be, in the following order:

3. The Valkyrie
4. Sif

and

5. Jane Donaldson.

Anyway, while Enchantress intrigues me the most, Loki fits Marvel's "shock reveal history" the best of any choice fans should actually know from their readings.

Kinda hope it is Enchantress; still, gotta go with Loki for the time being ...

I'd like to add that Superman was stated to have gone through multiple blackholes, besides the initial massive one. [so many in fact that the Doomsday infection was annihilated completely]

Malekith used Thor's super celestial slaying axe to cut the arm off. Definitely not something I would consider a bad showing or proving him weaker.

I will still hold out and see how the story unfolds.

It is simply wrong how they did the change. Thor deserves better and they just shiet all over his history and character.

Sometimes this whole feminism is just idiotic and sexistic towards males.

YES! More tears to power The Machine!!!

I agree about the Odin part. It was definitely a miss by Aaron, but I'm looking forward to Unworthy Thor.

Malekith with the help of 2 frost giants able to cut his arm ain't too bad considering Thor's current mindset. Let's face it, this muthaphukka is depressed as shiet. Plus he used a celestial killing axe.

One thing though, hopefully this ain't a long term thing. That's where I'll draw the line. I'm talking about 2 yrs or more.
