I believe that Wolverine v Juggs scan is fan art.
Yep.

Magic is the excuse, yes, but I doubt the writer considered it. Just wanted to do a good battle scene. The whole thing just doesn't seem right when we see Feral's organic mutant claws doing the job in the very same story.
And the magic needs to be of sufficient strength to hurt Cain. SS' swords are no Ebony Blade or anything like that.

I think it was considered.

It was mentioned that Shatterstar could cut him. This scene was taken under consideration imo which explains why Cain was damaged.
We see a Dark mark on Cain arms from Feral. No telling what that was. No proof he was damaged.
Honestly, we have no idea how powerful Shatterstar blades are. What we do know is, they were forged in an unknown dimension. I think the Cain showing is the proof we need on how powerful his blades were.

He's no-sold another attack from Wolverine a few pages after that. His forcefield was mentioned back in the original X-Men title by Stan.
You talking about UXM #12-13? If so, Juggy described it as a "force wave/aura" that he could generate from his body in order to form offensive attacks--it wasn't something that he employed defensively back then. This 'force wave' was also clearly depicted around Juggy every time he was using it. When it wasn't shown, it wasn't being used.

I was thinking about that time when Beast jumped on him and commented that ''he's invulnerable even without his forcefield on'' or something. It's in the revamped respect thread (posting from my obsolete phone, can't go looking atm).

I seen the Feral thing as motion lines. The top of them are where she started. If they weren't there, it would just look like she was just holding on.
Do you remember in what issue Juggernaut's protective ff appeared for the first time, btw?
