I was referring to the 'first-gen' FF he displayed way back in UXM #13. It evidently required conscious thought for him to activate it:

That's why I mentioned the aura. When it was visibly displayed, the FF was on. When it wasn't visibly displayed, the FF was off.

Conversely, years later(during the Thor issues, primarily), Juggy's FF was always activated, and always surrounded/protected him--he didn't have to consciously activate and deactivate it. It was just... There.

I believe it appeared in his first few appearances. It also had other abilities in those earlier issues, i.e. pushing people away and firing (I think) globules of energy at people. I think it could also absorb energy and/or redirect it. Unrelated, Cain also wore a speedo instead of pants.

Conclusion:

WEAK magical weapons such as Mjolnir and WEAK magical attacks such as Thor's Godblast do not harm Juggernaut (canon, scans exist). However, POWERFUL magical artifacts such as Shatterstar's swords, do.

WEAK non-magical slashing/piercing weapons such as Wolverine's adamantium claws do not harm Juggernaut. However, POWERFUL slashing/piercing weapons such as Feral's nails, do.
