To be fair, that dialogue very strongly implies that Thor would have been dead had Hela's curse not been in play.

It is an awesome weather control feat though, that would be brutal if used on a flesh-and-blood character.

Yeah, this is my impression as well...

Doesn't diminish the storm-feat in any way though, and I suppose you could argue that he was in that position because of brittle bones, etc.
