I don't like some Superman fans. But this is what I hoped Grant Morrison would do when they started the New 52. I understand why they couldn't, because Jim Lee needed Superman to be Superman for the Justice Leage origin story.
Rumor was Morrison had Action Comic set up for a while, but The Powers That Be decided to interfere, he couldn't write what he really wanted so he ended up ending it way earlier than before.
That's why a lot of people felt the ending to his run in Action Comic felt so rushed.

Uhh, no. The books have been getting solid reviews as with most of DC YOU books.
I tend not to listen to critics.
I've been burned by DC so much lately that I've stopped buying comics, even the Superman runs. The last comic I've bought was the last arc of Wonder Woman.
I mostly stick with small industries now. The last Superman I truly enjoyed was Moreison's run on Action Comic and some of Johns Jl arc.

If you like the smaller type books go with Omega Men, Midnighter, Constantine, and Dr. Fate. Those have an indie feel to them.
There are only so many permutations of mainstream superhero books. And there is the distinct sense that they're just constantly stringing you along. "The illusion of change" was what Stan Lee called it decades ago, and it's still the primary influence in modern stories.
I feel like it's a natural progression for many to graduate to either mostly indie titles, individuals authors that they like, or one-off series that don't tie into larger, never-ending universes. Everything else, eventually, becomes a bit of a rat race, regardless of its quality.

I mostly read mangas now, but the few Americans comics I do follow are the likes of Buffy/Angel series since I was a fan of the tv shows.
A buddy of mine recommended Spawn, I'll give it try since he does have pretty good taste in comics.
