He had the upper hand as we can see. From Forever Evil, Anti-Monitor consumed Universes before he dared to confront Darkseid.
With that one punch?
Gotcha. Did he use that Universal power yet?
This isn't the proper thread for this debate. Let me get the last word please.

Marvel comics has been TERRIBLE lately. I scroll over Marvel stuff and just read the DC comics.

Besides from the actual Secret Wars itself and a couple tie ins the rest of it is bad. DC is doing better at the moment.
This happens all the time, I always switched to the other company when the other one was bad. Sometimes both are equally good but if not you can still choose. It will get better though, of that I am sure. Once Disney makes an Multiverse with Star Wars, Marvel, Disney Worlds and SquareEnix Universe we all will win, let's hope they buy some Manga worlds and DC Comics.

AM only used the Anti-Life Equation at the end. Still, great showing for Darkseid. he was pounding the AM.Oh, and DS was using the Black Racer as a summoning attack (think game mechanics.) I'd say that should still count for him.
I actually don't think AM truly absorbed and destroyed universes .
As Darkseid was going to different universes and absorbing Earth's for the battle as mentioned in Earth-2.
Story-wise it would make sense them focusing on the planet as from what we have seen (excluding Constatatine) they never demonstrated universe busting/abosrbing feats on their own and Darkseid has a deal with Highfather he can't attack the universe other then absorbing Earth. Superman in Forever Evil mentioned the only being that had the power to destroy a world was Darkseid. Then they show AM on Earth 3, but Superman didn't know it was AM that did it and Grail never said he absorbed the entire universe in Forever Evil, just absorbed all he could in the universe
Issues with constituency of course, but DC is known for that.

If AM wields the ALE, I was curious why he didn't just make Darkseid kill himself..? 😕
I guess that though it's Darkseids weakness somehow it simply can't due to his nature or status and that AM needed the Black Racer who was somehow easy to control with the ALE. Since the BR is the embodiment of death, especially for new gods this seem reasonable.

No he wasn't. There's a single panel of him throwing a punch in the background. That's like a singles snapshot of almost an issue long fight. Before that, we have Anti-Monitor blasting Darkseid off his feet. He wasn't beating Darkseid's ass either.
The whole point of him summoning the Black Racer was because he was getting desperate apparently. If he was comfortably winning I don't think he'd do that.
And no, I don't think it should count when you use outside forces. Anti-Monitor's win wasn't legit either. They both used Death to win.
