Also don't forget he mentioned before that the more out of control Battleworld becomes the more weaker he gets. He slowly loses grip on reality. Not to say he's weak of course but I'm pretty sure if he was Beyonder tier he'd have clicked his finger and stopped them. Plus he could be thinking that he knows Owen is always there to help him if needed.
