Character Ownage

Thor being able to harm a Skyfather and give him a fight when relying heavily on Mjolnir is a high end showing but one thats not outside the realm of imagination because out of any High Herald, Mjolnir allows him to tangle with higher end beings by protecting him from their power and using it against them.

Odin however is a special case because they have a history of the son being insignificant to the father. It's the classic hierarchy and why so many of their stories work.

It's like Silver Surfer standing up to Galactus, it just doesn't work narrative wise or based on logic.

So I'm hoping they're is something else going on.

No matter what happens now, it's quite clear what I've been saying for a while now - the gap between Odin [and skyfathers in general] relative to high-heralds is much smaller than many of the Marveltards would like it to be.

I would be fine with this logic (Not that it's rock solid or anything of the sort) if it was applied equally. You make note of bias but you're full of it.

Well, he's more powerful than Parallax and ascended to pure willpower energy so quite up there. Above a Universal++ being such as Parallax, that's for sure.

Hal Jordan with 6 Rings beating a Hal Jordan with 3600 more rings plus the Central Power Battery = Hal being Uber but the reverse is for Odin?

Odin should grow up in size and headbutt her.

So....when did this Odin is a massive prick thing start? The last noble instance of him I can remember is when he stayed in purgatory to hold off Surtur.

Now he's this thing...with golden antlers....

it started a little while before fear itself and then steadily ramped up to this when Jane got the hammer.

Dare I say it? 😎

Old Man Odin. I still would rank him below Pre-DCnU DS.

Eh I kinda gave up on thor when the serpent showed back up and said "me and odin are cool now" and everyone went along with it.

Phil, how are you this upset?

People seem to forget how effective cheapshots are in comics

More importantly, in GL #50, Hal remembers being Parallax.

So does this confirm GLs survived Flashpoint relatively unscathed?

The threads with "Odin could take billions of IMPs unharmed" were quite revelatory as far as this forum's opinion on skyfathers. That, coupled with "Superman can beat Darkseid, so Darkseid can't be skyfather" is enough for me to start attacking these moronic stances.

You should attack these stances where they appear, not thow a fit in here.

Why is every Superman fanatic also a raging Darkseid fanatic? 😬
It goes hand in hand.

Negan's out... It's f*cking on.

That's definitely a weird unexplained thing in N52. It's odd how they went from War of GL's storyline straight into post fp. Weirder than Flash I would say. Flash has this moment with Bruce in the Batcave at the end of fp, but is like a totally different character in his own N52 series. No mention of living through FP and such...

This is not the first factoid from pre-Flashpoint continuity that Hal recalled, btw. Where do you think the Krona's Gauntlet/'power of a dozen rings' thing came from in the first place..? 😉

This all stems from Johns. He wasn't yet complete with his run on GL when Flashpoint happened, so he basically ignored it within GL continuity in order to complete his works--the alternative would have been him scrapping years worth of build-up to facilitate the Flashpoint reboot, which he's obviously not going to do(Johns does what he wants.) The current writer(Venditti) has just built upon that even moreso.

Atleast it wasn't Rick that freed Negan. I was worried for a while that Rick would have been force to go that route. Glad he didn't.

Think about it. If Darkseid is skyfather level and Superman beat him...

Oi carver, you wanted to discuss GL strength beams. Meet me.
