yes. When Thor gets knocked out, he mentions that he hasn't dreamed since he became unworthy because he's afraid if what he'll see.

In his dream, Gor the god Butcher appears and voices that Thor himself isn't sure if gods should exist and that perhaps there truly does deserve to be a godless age.

Yeah, because abhi cares about art...

He's masturbating furiously now, because a canon comic with such cover is going to be released soon:

Hopefully, it has Etrigan pulverizing Supes with one hit and stealing his powers.

Perhaps because if Thor has a hint in his mind that there should be a godless age he has both renounced his godhood and made himself unworthy.

I think it's cause after he heard it, Thor realized that he actually agrees with the statement. Like it's something he's been able to fight down inside himself because he's never actually spoken it aloud, but once he heard it somewhere inside himself he was like "you're right, they do deserve it". He may not WANT to believe it, wish that it weren't true, and even hope that one day it won't be true, but he's old enough that he's seen humanity do some pretty horrible stuff so he may not be able to successfully convince himself otherwise at this point. He's lost faith in humanity as a whole and is therefore, unworthy. At least that's my interpretation of the whole thing.

Alternately, it could be viewed as him being unworthy because he views the mantle of Thor and the existence of ALL Gods to be something humanity is genuinely better off without now. Like they do more harm than good so he doesn't believe he's worthy of that power now.

I'd tend to side with the latter interpretation, personally. 👆

See, I did when I first read it. But then I got to thinking about how Fem-Thor has been treated since then. It seems like if it was the latter then Thor would be against ANYONE having the hammer, plus against BRB and the rest totally stepping out of the equation.

But then again I'm a bit of a cynic so it's entirely possible that the former seems like a better interpretation to me solely because I'VE given up on humanity. I was in a particularly foul mood when I changed my mind about it lol

i wanna side with the latter too. but as of now we know that the hammer has a mind of its own. so does that mean it declares who is or who is not worthy? if so then why would thor's lack of faith or state of mind matter?

No one knows. Hopefully Unworthy Thor mini will put all these questions to rest.

It would've made more sense if he hadn't been going through the same crisis of fate twice over.

Once a thousand years back (seen in V2 flashbacks) and when he inherited the Odinforce.

Shit, I feel like that's been Thor's stance a while now. That they live to serve mankind and not the other way around. He's already hailed several people as greater than gods, like Cap...

I was afraid that the reason Thor became unworthy would be something really lame. But this is actually good. Self-doubt originating from his experiences with Gorr is certainly something I can get behind. Kudos to the writer.
