That's not true.Red sun radiation blocks Superman from accessing his yellow reserves, it doesn't replace them.
Also, wikipedia explains it this way:
"Red Solar radiation: Natural in Krypton's planetary system, red solar radiation replaces the higher-yield yellow solar energy in Superman's cells, robbing him of the fuel for his powers. Pre-Crisis, red solar radiation was said to lack the superpower-enabling "ultra solar rays" that yellow solar radiation contains.[37] Post-Crisis, red solar radiation is described as being weaker in overall intensity than yellow solar radiation. This process does not have the painful, crippling and fever-like symptoms of kryptonite, and essentially leaves Superman with the normal health and abilities of a human of his age and fitness level, as it did for the entire population of Krypton during its existence. Exposure to yellow solar radiation causes his powers to return."

Thanks for the scan. However, that's not how the red sun effect has been explained traditionally. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact scan I had in mind after a quick google search but this one, for example, shows how the red sun radiation is in fact depleting (not merely blocking) the stored yellow sun energy from his cells:Also, wikipedia explains it this way:

That's what's 'traditionally' believed, until it was retconned.
Make no mistake, it might be retconned back -- or into something different. But even so, there have been interpretations of red sun radiation to make the Injustice scene plausible.
