It's a flashback, yes.

Whether or not Alitha(the 3rd World GL) is truly dead, however, remains to be seen -- though I'd imagine she will pop-up again very soon... Especially since Volthoom is currently in the process of reacquiring his Travel Lantern(which will give him access to any point in time.)

Especially in this day and age of SJW-fueled BS, it's refreshing to see the vast difference in ability between rookies and veterans so clearly depicted as it should be.

And to be fair, Kyle is getting way more og respect then Alan Scott got back when Kyle was a rookie, and existed just to get "Worfed" against the next big threat.

👆 Even this week's Invincible Iron man was a breath of fresh air. Riri just got absolutely curbstomped by Will o the wisp due to lack of experience. That honestly makes me look at the character as a bit less of a PC friendly stand in.
