It was classic Thor at his best. Drunk, hardy and fun but with a reputation for being arguably the greatest warrior in Marvel being accurate (Why Jean went to go see him at the behest of Namor) and not only in combat but is somewhat intelligent.

That is consistent with his past showings. Karnak always loses to every big name MU martial artist, such as Daredevil or Black Panther. He can see (and exploit) the flaws in almost anything but he can't see the flaws in his opponents' martial arts.
