*Next issue we WILL see Mark go f*cking SSJ, though, and probably beat Thragg to death. Kid is going to get the best feats of his career barnone. Remember these words... 👆

Are you sure hes perma killed?

And whats so special about Mark?

Pretty sure -- that's certainly the implication, at least. If Nolan can survive that... DAMN. 😑

Mark has a history of stepping it WAY up when he needs to; case in point: Conquest... Conquest was the second most powerful Viltrumite in existence(with Thragg obviously being #1)... Then Mark beat him when he got pissed. Even if Mark doesn't beat Thragg, he'll most certainly do WAY better than he has any business doing under 'normal' circumstances.

Oh ok. I thought maybe Kirkman alluding to Human/Viltrumite hybrids as being something potentially more powerful. Its the only explanation for him doing what he does.

Holy phuck, Thragg is the a-number one savage, I hope he has an epic fight with Mark. Also, I'll shit a brick if Nolan actually survives that.

His effortless slaughtering of Nolan aside, the way Thragg was handling/dual-wielding Ragnars is just f*cking unreal...

I also loved that past panel. Obvious homage to Mark and Nolan's first fight against those two viltrumites (with the roles reversed now).

Hmmm.. A bearded and surly god of thunder wielding a badass axe somehow doesn't strike me as castrated.

Castrated is when ure relegated to sandwich duty by ure own woman.

If anything it shows even w/o Mjolnir he stays wrecking shiet.

With all the shiat Marvel has done to Thor it is good to see that some Thor fans like you try to see the positive side of things.

I mean yes Superman making a sandwich for his woman while weakened, doesn't strike me as half bad, after all the best cooks are males and it it no unheard of men in America helping their women with the house chores. Besides he is making a sandwich to a Superwoman which is relatively superior to a regular man or woman.

But the other example of Thor is the equivalent of you being the best guy to handle a tool that you are so good they even give you a secretary.
Then for some reason the company that hired you to handle that tool decides that your secretary is much better than you at doing that job and they demote you and put her in charge of handling that tool, because lets face it, she displays better capabilities than you at handling the mallet than you. You got a pat in the back get demoted and as a consolation price (so you don't feel that for the emasculation you have experienced) they tell you, now you can grow a beard and have this "cool" axe that is not even half as powerful as your former mallet.

On the other hand, Superman returns with his powers keeps banging a hot body amazon and faces his certain death as a real man.

It is ok to stay positive though, some day things may turn around for the Odinson. 😛

If that's true, it will be mother of all retcons.

My thought pattern as I read this:

That sounds awful

---

It's Geoff Johns..the one who brought back Pre-Crisis Alexander Luthor, Kal-L and Superboy Prime...

---

That line in Geoff Johns run about OZ teaching Supeman how to get up when he's down never quite fit with any character...Oh god...

---

Action Comics #1000 is right around the corner...

---

The solicits mention Superman as the Last Son of Krypton specifically...

---

Jurgens' interview:

Vince Brusio: While the focus of Action Comics #987-988 is on Superman, and how he’s going to juggle “The Oz Effect,” Superman at the same time doesn’t live in a bubble. There are other people in his life, and they’re going to feel ripple effects whether he likes it or not, yes? Given the nature of the problem, though, is there a point where collateral damage may be unavoidable?

Dan Jurgens: You’re right, Superman doesn’t live in a bubble, and this is a story that will rock the worlds of Jon and Lois as well. At its core, this is something of a family story that should affect everyone.

----

It's definitely Jor-El.

It's Harley Quinn.

I'm glad its not another Luthor.

Why is it awful? Superman will at last have his entire history back.

Jor-El serves a singular purpose - to be Superman's father, who died when Krypton exploded sending his only son towards his survival. Making him have some cosmic chess game with Dr. Manhattan sounds like fan-fiction.

srug

I will overlook that if Superman gets his entire history back.
