Hal opened a gate for Superman to enter transluminal space, within which he flew.
If you adjust your eyes towards the computer monitor in front of your head, you can see in the second scan that it shows him flying within that space.

But Abhil brought it up as a speed feat, which I don't understand because by definition it allowed Superman to outperform the limitations imposed on him, whether by the Universe or his own powers.
And the fact that Hal could see Superman? Does it also vastly shorten the distance? I don't know why everything is always so convoluted with you two dimwits. Heralds do this on the regular.

Also Hal was using the ring to communicate with Superman. If it was just a "portal", Superman wouldn't be traveling through it. He would just cross over the portal.

Yeah, so even if you went through your mountain tunnel, it makes no claim as to what your speed is through said tunnel.
The only mistake you could make, is by saying 'the distance from A to B, over the mountain, is 1000km, I travelled from A to B in one hour, therefore I went at 1000km/hr.....whilst neglecting to mention your tunnel.
