If you want to make a Sentry movie, you instantly have to turn it into an entire trilogy. The Void has to be the villain for the third movie. In the first one you could only hear the Void, in the second one you would start seeing him and in the third movie it would be an entity and maybe even start taking control over the Sentry.
That's the only way to develop and establish that character properly. Otherwise you can't cram that much content into just two hours.
At the same time Sentry has an incredibly awesome, yet criminally underutilized rogue gallery. So in a movie, or even a new comic you would have those visually stunning characters. But since they have 0 backstory, you could do whatever you felt like doing with them.
I'm just some random on the internet and I could easily threw out ideas for 3-4 Sentry movies with different tones, villains and motivations for everyone.
And if I can do that, then so can professional film makers.
The question is just if Marvel really wants to have a flying character, who wears a cape and has an 'S' on his suit. You know what casuals would think and say all the time.
