Thor was never scared of the Sun. He had no problem going back to Asgardia and stayed until the end without even ruining his beard.
He was upset that Jane apparently "killed" Mjolnir but based on the informarion on hand, he was far more worried about the hammer being damaged than himself. That makes no sense, even if the hammer is fine.
Side note, Thor jumped from the surface of the Sun to the moon in a panel. 👆 Greatest leaping feat ever by a herald? That's a ridiculous amount of gravity he had to overcome without flight.

Superman was still flying around in after flying through a red star. I can post a scene where he is sprayed with red sunlight far less than what happened with Prime and he was near powerless. What I am saying is, you're using one instance to justify Superman history against red solar radiation. With that said, since ONE instance is all it takes for you... here the Thors flew inside of the sun WITH MJLONIR and Thor (along with everyone else) was ok afterwards. Mjlonir was on as well.
