This might be closer to the truth than you think, tbh.

After all, even the punches Doomsday used to break free of his prison at the very beginning of DoS were so powerful that they registered on seismographs all over the COUNTRY:

...And given that he'd been imprisoned for ~250,000 years, and had absorbed absolutely NO solar radiation during that time, those would have been some of the WEAKEST punches that Doomsday was capable of producing.

Grey Hulk at a calm state is the weakest version of Hulk. Outright terrible in comparison and he destroyed an asteroid twice the size as earth. Boom!!!
