I don't think Diana could, or at least should, beat Darkseid (That should be a team effort) but no way did I ever think she was that strong tbh. She took him on with her fists and lasso. She did as well as Superman would imo.
Edit: In all seriousness, this was an inconclusive fight with Darkseid looking a lot less formidable than expected against Wonder Woman imo. It's not a huge deal, but not what I'd prefer. It's just funny seeing the exact same poster(s) who argued Jane was beating up Odin and that makes him less impressive defend this.
There is no mental gymnastics involved. when he was holding her up, a point blank omega beams into her face would have ended the fight. He finished off Zeus with a shot of his omega beams likely would have WW if he had wanted to. This is why i also agree that the fight was inconclusive because DS was there to open the portal and not to fight WW. He alsoade the Amazon's his slaves maybe he wants to. Make WW also. That's just my opinion.

My man, when you have to start inventing what the character could have done to justify that he was f*cking around...well. Yes, he could have shot her with his Omega Beams. Wonder Woman with her exceptional reflexes could have also instantly deflected them right back in his face for greater damage.
Zeus was drained severely and also doesn't have Aegis bracelets. Tbh, against Wonder Woman, the OB can be a liability.
Yes, Darkseid, is known for his humility. He often lets opponents punch him in the face unless he absolutely has to.
It's clear that Darkseid wasn't going "all-out" but let's not get twisted, it was a shitty showing for him. I'd argue that in this comic Diana is his rival in strength when she goes all-out. Yes, when Darkseid goes all-out, he'd beat her up, but you don't grapple for two pages and get punched to the knees by someone completely out of your weight class.
The logic behind some of the arguments here just don't make any sense to me. Some of the Superman vs. Darkseid fights start out with Darkseid pimp-slapping Superman away....

So I read the comic. It actually implies that he only took MGH at the end when he was losing. It also makes a lot more sense based on the logical sequence of events in the above scans. He was forced to take it after on his last legs.
