Looks like hyperbole.

She's literally saying they stopped hooking up because they were putting the planet in danger.

They hooked up again in modern times and phukked Alter Ego's shiet up. They end up getting spat out And yeah he's a planet.

So yeah. He gets some nookie from this goddess and the planet can blow up.

When despero fought mmh they crashed from outer space and he was fine

Despero is just a horribly inconsistent character, even by comic standards.

Yup, so the feat is impressive asf

@Pr, agreed

and LOL at "defeated by atmospheric re entry"

JLA issue #118

He was also a victim of Johns's tendency to put the story ahead of everything to the point that it makes some of his decisions look weird. He beats an (admittedly weaker) J'onn AND Arthur (who in Post Crisis years was a hell of a telepath), but can't get past Superman's mental blocks.

I've no problem arguing that Superman has some of the best mental resistance feats of any herald, but that's a bit much.

This is a total myth, yo. Superman never resisted him, at least not any longer than any other league member. Despero was just interrupted everytime he turned his attention to Clark.

You're drinking your own kool-aid it seems.

Despero outright tries and fails to do anything to Superman. Twice.

Assuming Despero can talk and fight (physically or telepathically) at the same time as most characters can, he has more time to take down Superman than most of the others, who all seemed to get taken over pretty quickly.

Look at how much dialogue he gets out before being interrupted.

Haha. Thor just banging a ***** can split the planet in two and Carver instantly tries to downplay.

Beastly showing of Cyke's blast. I wish they could translate this impact to the comics.

Everyone went physical with Despero in V&V. Superman switched it up and used heat vision this time. Simple concept.

lol, No.

Post Infinite Crisis Superman was more powerful than ever, and Superman post OWAW would not cut loose risking collateral damage/killing his allies unless there were no other options. didnt get to that mindset at any point in V&V.

lol Superman wasn't close to Despero stats wise

Meanwhile Clark is in the elevator listening to Lois getting railed.

Thor sucks

Agreed...

Hong Kong Phooey with the God Fist technique (Most formidable technique in the DCU) is like Iron Fist on crack.

It's power is enough to shake the very universe.

would be pretty cool if Bats learned it

Not really. You left out Zatanna saving his arse on the next page. Hell, post every other example of Despero using mind-control from that arc, and it's obvious that Superman was *only* saved due to the interruptions.
