Donny Cates. He really has no idea of how to write power levels.
Ha, he's the one who wrote the Thanos arc with him beating all Cosmic Beings in the future, no?

I don't think this is bad, tbh. He pulled the sword which he used against the Celestial, out of the Celestial's body, no?

Considering Cates had Black Bolt killing off all celestials, Thanos killing Living Tribunal and a bunch of other nonsense I'm surprised Thor only severed the connection.

Look out for Venom to punk the Symbiote God in a few issues.

I don't think this is bad, tbh. He explicitly forged the sword he attacked the Celestial with, using the Celestial's body. So meh.

The sword he pulled out to kill the Celetial was pulled out of his own shadow, not the Celestial's body.

That sword was refined in the Celestial's head however.

The connection was severed, it was like someone cutting Carnage's symbiote remote control line in the "Carnage" mini when he controlled that composite 4-5 Iron Man symbiote suit colossus. That doesn't mean in any way that Thor > Symbiote God.

The dialogue and the scans you posted definitely imply Thor >>>> Symbiote God, but I haven't read the entire issue, perhaps there is more context. I don't particularly care. I just don't like this new origin for the Necrosword. It's kind of shitty and cheapens it.

Is there like a Superman trust fund that gives you monthly cheques for each of these posts?

Was there a version of necrosword which wasn't shit?

SMH.

Wtf? That is arguably one of Thor's greatest feats ever and my nipples are as hard as glass right now but who wrote this comic? I need to read it. It feels like a fanfic stapled together from a bunch of What-Ifs.

As much as I love Thor easily one-shot killing a being (With a single-lightning bolt that surpassed a Celestial Host) that can one-shot kill a Celestial, created the Necro-Sword and wiped out pantheons for billions of years, and I'd love some consistency in my comics.

This honestly reads like something I might have written in High School. What would the coolest origin story for my new badass villain? I know, he'll be uber powerful, predating the Universe, can kill Celestials, and whatever, but definitely not a challenge to my mack-daddy Thor.

I just don't think this chives very well at all with any of the stories it is referencing.

I've long thrown out consistency in comics. Inconsistency is inherent with this type of storytelling. Hard to keep consistent with so many writers, existing characters, and new characters created everyday.

This Venom series has been fun to read since #1.

Yes, I and Paramaniac are it's two biggest members.

I'm sure Superman will do something cool next week so you can feel better by Thor having a power far beyond anything the Symbiote God has felt ever before.

I just read the first issue and it is really good. I'm enjoying Brock. Can't believe it's going to go from this story to this Symbiote God stuff. What a twist lol.

This is the equivalent of switching to a guy's face, just as Thor fans finish.

I'm sure Aaron would have Thor lose to stilt man to balance this.

Nice ft for Thor.

Ninjak:

A bit of context is in order.

So the symbiote God did kill a celestial with the necrosword but it wasn't with him after Gorr took it. Later he used his symbiotes to control creatures from other worlds and Thor severed the connection from him.

That's why Thor was said "to have more power than any other world his horde had taken".

There is no connection between Thor and celestials here. That cheeky Paramaniac.

x2

So there's literally no feat for Thor here?

😂 😂 😂

Talk about:

All of a sudden, CONTEXT matters here. But only if Superman looks bad or Thor/Hulk/Surfer look good.

Also I'm not sure if there is a language barrier, but you need to read the scans again.

Everyone knew the Necrosword was with Gorr when he came to Earth BUT he forged it in the fires of the dead Celestial AFTER he had already killed it.

And the connection between Thor and the Celestials was that he could sense/smell the "LIGHT" of Thor which I guess is divine good energy that all living beings have?

Recognize anyone?

Thor one-shotting the Symbiote God AND severing his connection to his symbiote horde who at his BASE (Before he forged the All-Black) was able to one-shot a Celestial and survive their banishment is an-ok feat I guess.

Oh, Parm... 🙂

Look, the comic could've had the Blob literally raping Thor and making him pregnant.

And Rage would still argue it's an awesome durability showing, that also shows he inherited some more of Gaea's powers, as she was the spirit of life among other things.

What are you talking about? The only thing Thor had here was "More power than any world his horde had taken".

Also the God had taken a sword from the abyss to kill the celestial.

https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VuUP7LA_APA/W1h-svfS82I/AAAAAAACTNc/XkHL-Ppawn4r1XjqklghgHZBwymGSoqYQCLcBGAs/s1600/069_005.jpg

The sword was destroyed so he created necrosword.

How does that connect Thor to Celestials?
