I do hope whatever the first movie is, it isn't another Charles and Erik lovefest. I get that you have to establish people like Magneto, but Charles should be more like Fury was to the Avengers, imo. A bit more prominent, sure, but let the team be equally as important if not more-so.

I'd be amazed if they didn't, given how they've been going out of their way to cast more and more unknown actors in stuff. Or actors that just don't cost as much.

Deadpool they can't reboot, though. They might have to have him tweak Colossus though if Colossus is going to appear in X-Men AND Deadpool films.

Yeah.

The best thing about X-Men, I think, is because you don't just get the X-Men themselves. You get X-Factor, the New Mutants, the young X-Men, even Blue and Gold. You could have your own little cinematic universe of JUST the X-Men if you wanted; even Fox seemed to understand that, regardless of poor execution.

@pr/stilt i think the issue with Fox X-Men is that they tried the same formula with Mystique that they did with Logan based purely off the JLaws popularity...which is stupid af because no one thinks of Mystique when the want to watch an XMen film. She's a background character

They've (or rather, Singer and his writers) never cared about the lore outside of Xavier/Magneto and Logan doing Logan things. Not really. Singer was too busy making his gay allegory and none of the cast had read the comics.

It worked for Glau for the simple fact the ones in charge weren’t pushing a feminist agenda. And if they did, they hid well.

One of the reason Glau worked, was because she had this girl next door and innocent look give to her. No way in hell would you expect her to be a robot from the future ready to kill you.

This new female has none of the charms from what I can see from the posters that are out there. And those in charge are coming at this with the feminist output from the get go. There not even trying to hide it.
