The comic doesn't explicitly say that he was using the Power Gem. It was just glowing throughout the entire sequence. I haven't read the issue yet, so I don't know if that was just a visual representation or a visual cue that it was being used. It does not contradict anything from those particular scans. Because, if the gems are always glowing like that, it's an even more blatant showing of Thanos making Hulk his b*tch.
In the movie, it's perfectly clear when Thanos uses the stones. He closes his fist, there's a sound effect and the stones do their best Rihanna impression to shine bright like a diamond. That's harder to show on paper more clearly.
Regardless, the Russo's said that Thanos is stronger than the Hulk on one occasion IIRC and in the interview I posted, said he's as strong as the Hulk but far more skilled, dismantling him with easy.

They messed up the comic. The russo bros confirmed in the director commentary that no gems were used against the Hulk.
edit. I honestly don't know why the PHUCK the russos would cause so much confusion when it would have been easier to just have him fight Hulk without the gauntlet, or of ALL stones...NOT the power one lol

Also you have to wonder how many fights these guys have seen. Brock isn't exactly slow, and you don't really want to be sub 170 fighting big guys like that. Maybe if they were purely striking... boxing... would his speed matter as much but ****. Pretty sure Brock would disintegrate Bruce with a punch.
