That was a pretty awful showing from Stark considering Stark Satellites could originally take out Ultimo, someone who can no-sell attacks from classic Iron Man, classic Thor, and Extremis Iron Man. Ultimo is considerably more physically imposing than all the people mentioned so Extremis took them out with the Satellites, which were made from some cosmic alien tech Tony found. This was like the first showing from the Stark Satellites.

If those same Satellites failed to beat Ikaris, this is just another major L for modern Iron Man armors & tech smh. Not even surprised at this point, at least he's alright with Cantwell writing for him.

honestly I’d just chalk it up to variation of writers. I really doubt the Eternals writer cares too much for power levels given he has OF Thor fighting Thena. But then again that satellite isn’t really something Ironman really whips out like that so it could just be the writer hyping up the Eternals as well. Who knows I guess we’ll find out in following issues and the event that’s coming out on how Ikaris performs.

It's how Marvel works, as opposed to how DC works.

In Marvel, they want to build up and appeal to as wide a fanbase as possible. Which means every character gets a chance to shine.... sometimes at the expense of others. The Eternals, having just had a movie out, are shining. Wanna know how badass Thena is? Here she is against OF Thor, who explicitly is there to fight. Ikaris is super tough, look how Iron Man, who you know and love from those RDJ films, firing his super special weapon at him, yet he shrugs it off!

In DC, they have a strict hierarchy. Batman and Superman have to be the top dogs, and if they get beaten it shows how dire the stakes are.

Don't think anyone in Marvel (aside from Cates - and even he is a "maybe" at this point) gives a crap about Odinforce or Thor in general anymore, DS.

Neil Gaiman has done a great job portraying and elaborating on Earth Eternals' "sturdiness" back in 2006. It's nothing new.

That's actually one of the few things that makes them "special"... that and their Resurrection Chamber, but that is no longer unique to Eternals (look at Hickman's Krakoa "saga" and mutants' Resurrection Protocols).

I'd argue Marvel also jobs out top tiers far more regularly to the point of farce

See Thor and any Stiltman post about Thor.

In Thor's case, it's just that they no longer want to promote him as their big gun.

Not only it's been done to the death... the character is simply obnoxious.

I vote make Doctor Strange the new big gun.

He already was one, back in the day.

But yes, I'd love him getting restored to his former glory.

Bad news for the Hulk haters but it's been confirmed with on panel clips that Hulk WILL be fighting Thor with Odins power. Enjoy!!

I guess you "forgot" to mention that Hulk will be massively amped as well.

The Hulk's Hulk. Plus, Hulk vs the entirety of the Shi Ar, Inhuman, Kree empires plus LT/Galactus et al.

His own power isn't an amp and Hulk isn't in his Doomsday eye blasting mode while fighting Thor.

Danger is back. And one of Deadpool's most 4th-wall breaking issues in recent times.

Huh. Never knew Shang had psionic powers. Plus the 10 rings are now in Marvel:

Nighthawk is back! As is Boy-Thing!!

Not ***that*** surprising, considering how he was said to have some psychic resistance/awareness back in X-Men, decades ago.

As for Fu Manchu/Zheng Zu, he literally pulls out new superpowers each time he appears.

Assuming that is Zheng Zu... wouldn't be surprised if Marvel tried to fuse both him and Mandarin into the same character facepalm

So Moira is gonna skin Mary Jane . So happy I stopped reading this crap

Skinning her alive sounds like a mercy compared to what writers have done already.

Lol I thought he was using some hip street lingo.

Moira literally skinned Banshee just recently, who was one of the greatest loves in her life, so I really wouldn't be surprised if she decided to do it to MJ for no reason at all 😛

Then again, mutants can't die for good, humans can... so one could argue it's not the same.

Yet, hilariously, Deadpool didn't when sneaking on to Krakoa.
